  • The department was established in the year 1991 by an eminent personality Prof. D. V. L Narayan, H.O.D Electrical Engineering with an admission intake of 30.
  • The departments aims to develop Instrumentation Engineers to take up conceptual and developmental activities in areas of Instrumentation and control.
  • The curriculum offers training majorly in the fields of
         1. Instrumentation
         2. Transducers
         3. Process control
         4. Biomedical instrumentation
         5. Virtual Instrumentation
         6. VLSI and Hardware design

  • Workshop programme on “Embedded System Design using Microcontrollers” was organized as a networking activity under TEQIP.
  • About 75% of the students are consistently placed in campus placement.
  • Students are also encouraged to take up higher studies , actively participate in sports and extracurricular activities.
  • An association for Instrumentation Engineers was formed in 2002.
